Stranger Things: where the dark world resides

 Overview: Stranger Things is an American sci-fi horror drama TV series, created by Duffer Brothers for Netflix, which lasted four seasons, and the fifth and final season is expected to be released in 2025. The main cast contains, Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, Erica Sinclair, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Jonathon Byers, Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, Joyce Byers, Jim Hopper, and in the later seasons, Robin Buckey, Max Mayfield, Billy Hargrove, Murray Bauman and Eddie Munson.

The series starts with the disappearance of one of the kids, called Will Byers into the woods. The investigation wasn't fruitful and the family, his mother and brother started losing sanity as there hadn't been any news of the kid. Will's friends, at the same time, started working on a plan to find their lost friend, but no one knew where it led them in the end. A theory, inspired by a game called, Dragons & Dungeons, led the kids to a dark side of the world. 

Soon it led to the disappearance of another person, called Barbara, and Hawkins was no longer the town it was before. The investigation led to something that no one ever thought of before. Soon some dark secrets related to the Hawkins Lab came into being when someone from the Lab escaped and met Will's friend Mike. Their world really turned upside down from then. 

Character Overview: Eleven, the girl with enormous power gifted from the experiments conducted on her in the Lab. At first, she was someone, who didn't know the world outside her chamber. Later, she started recognizing herself and embracing herself along with her powers and secrets with the help of her friends. However, the danger for her always awaits at the other end of the door. 

Mike Wheeler, the smart and mature kid of the group, was never afraid to take huge and scary steps when it came to rescuing his friend. He was the one who rescued Eleven, in that process and made acquaintances with her, when no one believed her, he did. He played a major role in solving and revealing huge hidden secrets throughout the show. 

Dustin Henderson, the smart pants of the group, came up with the relevance of the reality and the Dragons & Dungeons game, which was a huge opening for others to know the reality even better. Always quick to action even in the most difficult and anxious situations. 

Lucas Sinclair is the person who always wanted to be cautious in every situation. He was suspicious of Eleven at first until he grew attached to her later. In later seasons he was seen to have a love relationship with Max Mayfield. 

Max Mayfield, she appeared later in season 2 and has been there in the show since then. Stepsister of Billy, she was a tough nut to crack at first. Later she became acquainted to both Dustin and Lucas and ended up dating Lucas. 

Nancy Wheeler, the elder sister of Mike, she was one of the strong characters in the show, who showed headstand stubbornness, when it came to her office environment not treating her well enough. She joined the kids in their journey when she came to investigate the mystery behind her best friend, Barbara's death. 

Jonathan Byers, elder brother of Will, he appeared to be a loner from the beginning, an aspiring photographer, who always was a quiet kid. Later he also joined the quest when he started working with Nancy on her case. 

Joyce Byers, mother of Jonathan and Will, she was an outstanding character in the show. Although she slipped into depression after her son's disappearance for a while, she took that case into her own hands and started investigating everything, until she discovered something that seemed to be impossible to everyone.

Jim Hopper, the police officer, who was in charge of investigating Will's case, later faced the dark reality behind it. He also adopted Eleven as his own daughter and named her Jane. He is one of the strongest characters and has a love affair with Joyce. 

Steve Harington, the most criticized character at first, character development after encountering danger in the last episodes of season 1, was the most talked about aspect of the show. He slowly developed himself and joined the kids, as a part of their team to help them with adult supervision, later.

Robin Buckley, a character appeared in the later seasons, she seemed to be working with Steve at an ice cream parlor, but later she joined them after knowing their plan. 

Billy Hargrove, stepbrother of Max, only appeared for a season and later sacrificed himself to protect the kids. Eddie Munson, who also appeared for a single season, won the hearts of the audience with his scene of playing Master of Puppets by Metallica on his guitar in the upside-down world. Although the end disappointed a lot of people, his contribution to the season will be remembered. 

Other mention-worthy characters, include Erica Sinclair, Dr, Owens, and Vecna or One.

 

Conclusion: Stranger Things is perfect for someone who loves thriller along with some sci-fi mystery. It is one of the most talked about and critiqued series, and viewers can not wait for the final season after the fourth season was left in such an interesting cliffhanger.
